Preview: Last year, the Spartans broke open a close game at the half to win 31-14. Head Coach Blake Ware and his team get Porter at home this time for the season opener.

 

Teams: Liberty Panthers at Coldspring Trojans

When: Friday at 7:30 pm

Where: Trojan Stadium

Records: Season opener for both teams.

Last Year: Coldspring 28, Liberty 21

Preview: The Panthers travel to Coldspring looking for a quicker start in 2023. The Trojans are always athletic and that should be an even match-up between both teams.

 

Teams: Warren Warriors at Hardin Hornets

When: Friday at 7:30 pm

Where: Hornet Stadium

Records: Season opener for both teams

Last Year: Warren 34, Hardin 13

Preview: Head Coach Chad Taylor makes his debut at Hardin. The Warriors took last year’s contest 34-13. This is also homecoming for the Hornets.

 

Teams: Hull-Daisetta Bobcats at Kountze Lions

Where: Lions Stadium

Records: Season opener for both teams

Last Year: Hull-Daisetta 22, Kountze 12

Preview: Head Coach Randy Birdwell and his Bobcats travel to 3A Kountze for the season opener. In 2022 it was Hull-Daisetta winning 22-12.

 

Teams: Evadale Rebels at Tarkington Longhorns

When: Friday at 7:30 pm

Where: A.L. Nelson Stadium

Records: Season opener for both teams

Last Year: Tarkington 35, Evadale 18

Preview: The Longhorns return a ton of starters for first-year Head Coach Toby Belt. Tarkington will look to get off to a quick start as they open with their first two games at home.
