DAYTON - Natalie Garcia had an RBI single in the bottom of the 8th inning to score Itzel Gonzalez in leading the Lady Broncos to a walkoff 3-2 win over the Huffman Lady Falcons on Monday afternoon.

Tied at 2-apiece entering the bottom of the 8th inning, Gonzalez walked and then moved to second on a nice bunt by Ariana Zuniga. Garcia then sent everyone home happy with her single to plate Gonazlez.

Huffman scored a run in the third and another in the fourth to move in front 2-0. Dayton then got the bats going in the bottom of the fourth. Bella Barziza started things off with a double and then walks to Larissa Ramos and Gonzalez had the bases loaded. Zuniga lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Barziza to cut the deficit in half at 2-1. Garcia followed with a double to plate Ramos and the game was knotted at 2. In the top of the sixth inning, third baseman Mika Anthony-Conner made a great diving catch in foul territory for the third out of the inning.

Madi Alvarado shut down the Lady Falcons bats the rest of the way to get the win on the mound. Anevay Cantu got the start on the mound and pitched the first three innings for Dayton. Fabiana Candelari, Anthony- Conner, and Garcia all had two hits each, with Garcia driving in two.

The Lady Broncos will travel to Nacogdoches on Friday evening.
