Hardin kicks off season with homecoming game against Warren

HARDIN - Opening night will be a special night for the Hornets on Aug. 25 against Warren as they kick off the 2023 campaign with homecoming and the beginning of the Chad Taylor era.

Hardin will then make their first road trip to Evadale on Sept. 1 as the Hornets try and make it two in a row after defeating the Rebels last year 20-6.

Hardin returns home for Trinity on Sept. 8 and will look for a second straight win over the Tigers.

The following Friday, the Hornets will visit Bobcat Stadium for a match-up with Hull-Daisetta. Last season Hardin took home the bragging rights after a 21-10 win.

District play then gets going on Sept. 22 and a road trip to rival Anahuac.

Taylor and his new team will welcome his old school and the Tarkington Longhorns on Sept. 29 at Hornet Stadium.

After an open week on Oct. 6, Hardin will travel to Orangefield on Friday the 13th.

Kirbyville then visits the Hornets on Oct. 20. in 2022 it was the Wildcats winning 32-12.

Hardin will then end the season with two Thursday night games.

On Oct. 26, it will be a short bus ride to Winnie and a battle with East Chambers.

The final game of the regular season is Nov. 2 at home against always tough Buna Cougars on Senior Night.
