Lady Hornets take out Lady Horns 7-1

Reese Parker struck out nine and allowed just three hits to lead the Hardin Lady Hornets to a 7-1 win over the Tarkington Lady Horns on Tuesday night in Hardin.

Parker also added two hits and a pair of RBIs at the plate.

Emily Lowe of Tarkington led the way for the Lady Horns with two hits.

Hardin grabbed the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second frame.

Taylor Knight and Alissa Aragonez started things off with a single, and then both moved to second and third on a sacrifice bunt by Emmah Hebert. Kenadi Frauenberger then lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Knight for a 1-0 lead.

Audrey Schulz then made it a 2-0 game by driving in Aragonez on a ground out.

The Lady Hornets then added two more in the third, with Maddy Fregia and Parker both getting singles, and then RBI singles by Aragonez and Hebert gave Hardin a 4-0 lead.

Hardin went to work again in the bottom of the fifth inning and added three more runs.

Schulz singled and then moved to second as Madison Holman reached on an error. After Fregia reached on a fielder’s choice, Kaitlyn Key singled to load the bases.

Parker then had the big hit of the inning with a two-run single to stretch the advantage to 6-0.

Knight followed with a single, and the score was 7-0.

Tarkington did get on the scoreboard with a run in the sixth.

Payne reached on a walk and then, after moving to second, would score on a Lowe single to bring the score to 7-1.

Just an out away from the win, Parker made a diving catch to finish off the Lady Horns.

Knight and Aragonez each finished with two hits apiece.

Payne pitched a complete game for Tarkington.
