Hardin Hornets vs Yoakum Bulldogs

When: Friday at 7 p.m. Where: Cypress, FCU Stadium Records: Hardin 12-0; Yoakum 10-2 Last Week: Hardin 16; Hitchcock 9; Yoakum 36, Fairfield 29 Preview: The Hornets have broken the glass ceiling this season, setting the school record for most wins, which just grows every week, as they take a 12-0 record into this week’s regional semifinal. They also have now claimed the only undefeated season and Area Championship in Hornet history, so now they hope to keep pushing forward as they face the Yoakum Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs beat previously unbeaten Fairfield to advance, and they come ready to play, as they join the Hornets in the top 10 state rankings. Freshman Germarquis Robinson rushed for 305 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs in their win last week.

The Hardin defense was huge in their 16-9 win over Hitchcock. Trevor Jones, Javion Watley and Kolten Bishop lead the offense for the Hornets.

The winner moves on to the Class 3A Division I Region III Championship game against the winner of Columbus and Franklin.
