The Tarkington Lady Horns softball team snagged a couple of the top awards in District 23-3A.
Leading the way was Scout Payne, who was named the district’s Offensive Player of the Year. Payne also pitched for Tarkington.
Getting the other top honor was third baseman Emily Lowe in ging the Co-Defensive Player of the Year along with Coldspring’s Samantha Temple.
Landing on the first team for the Lady Horns was Shelbie Chamblee.
Making the second team for Tarkington was Jersee Moore.
The Lady Horns finished district play in fifth place and just missed the playoffs.
