The Tarkington Longhorns are coming off a tough season, and they will be looking to rebound in 2021 under brand new Head Coach Eliseo Aguero. The new coach takes over after the sudden departure of two-year headman Zach Bass left for Westbrook HS in Beaumont. The Longhorns went 3-6 last year, with only one district victory of cross-county rival Hardin.

The Horns will kick off the year on Friday, Aug 27, with a home game at Shepherd against the Pirates, before hitting the to face the Bridge City Cardinals on Sept 3 and then heading out to Trinity on Sept 17. The following week Tarkington will wrap non-district play against Coldspring-Oakhurst.

The district will start with a road game against a tough Anahuac Panthers squad, before opening the district slate at home against Buna, before hitting the road to take on the Kirbyville Wildcats. They wrap the year against Hardin on the road and then welcome the powerhouse, East Chambers.
