Mont Belvieu - Dayton’s Fabi Candelari had two hits and drove in a pair and Liberty’s Reese Evans walked three times and scored two runs in leading the West side to a 13-3 win over the East on Wednesday evening at Barbers Hill High School in the SETCA All-Star Game.

Cleveland’s Abigail Martinez also reached base a couple of times for the West with a walk and an error on the East shortstop.

The East jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the West would start to get it going.

The West scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning to get within 3-2 and then took the lead for good in the fourth on a two-run single by Candelari. In the bottom of the fifth, Martinez was hit-by-apitch and scored as did Evans who had reached on a walk. Reagan Duty of Barbers Hill had a tworun single in the frame and after five innings the West led 8-3.

Duty had another RBI singled in the sixth as the West added five runs to run-rule the East squad 13-3. Duty also pitched a complete game and was named the MVP for the West team.

Alex Wiley was also selected to play for the West, but the Liberty graduate could not participate due to an injury.
