Whitehead and Wells bring home medals at State Powerlifting Meet

The Dayton High School girls powerlifting team sent five girls to the THSWPA State Powerlifting Meet in Corpus Christi on March 20. Qualifying and making the trip for Dayton were Natalie Garcia, Katelyn Payton, Emma Pierce, Kloee Wells, and Gracie Whitehead. For the first time in school history, the Broncos had two girls bring him medals from the state meet. The top five finishers in each weight class receive a medal. Bringing him medals for 5th place were Wells in the 198.5 weight class and Whitehead in the 123.5 weight class who also finished in 5th place. Pierce took home 6th place in the 181.5 weight class while Garcia and Payton finished 11th and 12th place respectfully in the 165.5 weight class.

Natalie Garcia 11th place (165.5 wt. class)

Katelyn Payton 12th place (165.5 wt. class)

Emma Pierce 6th place (181.5 wt. class)

Kloee Wells 5th place (198.5 wt. class)
