Thornton endorses Seymour for Liberty City Council

I am proud to have served as your representative on the City Council for the last 3 years. I served the last year of an unexpired term vacated by Paul Glazener and then an elected full term. As my next birthday approaches (and it’s a big one!), I realize that if I intend to see the world and get involved with my grandchildren, I better do it now. Therefore, I have decided to step down from City Council.

I drew the same opponent in both elections that I have been involved in. That opponent is Ed Seymour. I have publicly stated before that it was a pleasure to compete with this fine gentleman and I was fortunate to win both times, although with a margin of less than 30 votes combined in BOTH elections. I am urging all the voters that supported me to join with Ed’s supporters and elect him to the Liberty City Council. I believe his background and knowledge of street and road construction and maintenance makes him a valuable asset to our community. He also recognizes the necessity of providing quality infrastructure for the population growth we are sure to see. These projects must be financed and I believe Ed will support the efforts necessary to provide the facilities needed for the residents of Liberty, both old and new. He will also watch the budget carefully to assure the taxpayers are getting the “most bang for their bucks”. Ed is also independent of any organized political money. This will assure that he represents ALL the taxpayers of Liberty rather than any special interest. Please join me in supporting Ed Seymour for Liberty City Council.
