Healthy Happy & Hopeful

Posted in:

Happy, Healthy & Hopeful is the realm of where I believe we as children of God should be living in. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he”. When we have vision, we are happy people. Vision gives us hope to live a happy healthier life.

Healthy: When I was a very young child I became deaf, there was no explanation as to why, however being raised in this Apostolic faith, even as a child I knew the power of prayer and miracles. I remember asking my mom one day if we could go to the church and have my pastor pray for me. We went to the church and I stood on the altar and I will never forget that moment when he laid hands on my forehand and my ears opened instantly and I could hear! There was not thunder and lightning it was just a still moment and God showed up. That was over 40 years ago and still today I am blessed! I am a living miracle!

God could have chosen to not heal me but instead He chose to give me a miracle. You see, there is a vast difference between a healing and a miracle. Miracles are instantaneously and healing is a process. And then there are times that God chooses to do neither and it is in these times that we must know that our bodies are not our own, our bodies are a temple and we must trust God whatever the outcome may be. God knows the thoughts and intents of our heart so we must ask ourselves this question, “Will I trust Him and live for Him regardless of the outcome?”

1 Corinthians 6:19 “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” Being healthy is more than just being physically healthy. It is important that we be physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally healthy. Our spiritual vision must always be 20/20 when walking through this-journey of life. If we allow the situations that we are in to blind us in anyway then we stand to jeopardize our health, our walk with God. Whether it is emotionally, spiritually, mentally or physically we need to ensure that we are praying and fasting so that we can stay strong in the Lord daily.

Happy: I love to be around people that are happy. They are always laughing and in a good mood and no matter what frame of mind you may be in, while in their presence you are happy also. Unfortunately, in today’s world we find that many people appear to be unhappy with where they are in their life, even Christians. The Bible tells us there is time and a season, but we must never forget to be content and happy where God has us. Ecclesiastes 3:4 “A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance” I have found that in my many seasons of life, that “happy” is not always an easy place to be. On this journey called life, we face many challenges that sometimes cause to weep, mourn, laugh, cry, even loose our vision, but it is in these seasons that we must learn to trust God unconditionally. When you become focused on God and less focused on your problems it is in that moment when hope rises and happiness comes. Isaiah 12:3 “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation”.

Hopeful: Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hope is having faith! When we learn to have hope for whatever we need, then our faith becomes stronger. Don’t ever lose faith; don’t ever give up hope because we can’t make it if we ever lose hope.

As we embark on this New Year, let us take a spiritual checkup and examine our lives. We must check our to make sure it is pure; we must check our vision to make sure we are seeing what God wants us to see and we must check our minds and make sure we are living in the wellness of where God has placed us. My prayer for this New Year is that we live a healthy, happy and hopeful life!

3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”.
