BROKEN MAGNETS

I knocked a small, flat magnet off onto the floor, and it broke into two pieces.

One would think the two pieces would stick back together, but not so. As a matter of fact, they fiercely repelled each other when I tried to put the two pieces back together the way they broke apart. That is the nature of a magnetic field. The two pieces would cling to each other, but not the way they were originally.

Such is the nature of the gospel. Jesus broke the power of sin. “Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) The old sin nature will try to cling to you, but you now have the power of Christ in you.

Repel, Resist! It can never be the same again and there will be peace.
