At this writing, the current national debt of the United States is over $36 trillion. However, there was a debt larger than that paid over two thousand years ago; my sin and yours. As the song, says, “He paid a debt He did not owe; I owed a debt I could not pay.” (author anonymous) “And He became the payment for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)
