Don’t Get Weary in Well Doing

In life, especially for those walking in faith, there are seasons when doing the right thing feels hard. The road of righteousness may seem long, thankless, and even lonely. But the Word of God reminds us not to grow weary or faint-hearted. Galatians 6:9 (KJV) gives us this powerful encouragement: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

This verse assures us that our labor is not in vain. Though the results may not be immediate, there is a due season coming. God’s timing is perfect. When we feel tired, it is not a sign to give up but rather a call to lean more deeply into the strength of the Lord. Isaiah 40:29-31 (KJV) says, “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength… But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

The weariness we feel often comes when we begin to rely on our own strength. But when we draw near to God, He supplies what we lack. He knows your heart, your labor, and your desire to serve Him. He sees the acts of kindness no one else acknowledges. He sees the love poured out, the prayers lifted, and the tears cried in secret.

Hebrews 6:10 (KJV) reminds us of this truth: “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Even when people overlook or criticize, God remembers. Our motivation for doing well must come from our love for Him, not from human applause.

Let us also remember 1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV): “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

When the journey is tough, keep going. When the fruit isn’t visible, keep planting seeds. In due season, the harvest will come. Whether here on earth or in eternity, God rewards faithfulness.

So press on, beloved. Encourage your soul in the Lord. Rest when needed, pray always, and trust in His promise. Don’t get weary in well doing—for your reward is on the way.
