What Does The Bible Say?

Posted in:

Answer - Yes. He said in John 14:9 to Phillip, one of His apostles- “…have I been so long a time with you and yet you have not known me, Phillip? He that has seen me has seen the Father, and how do you say then, Show us the Father? Furthermore, in John 8:56-59, he said to the leaders of the Jews; “your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad, so the Jews said to Him, “ you are not yet 50 years old and have you seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them “truly I say to you before Abraham was I AM. So they picked up stones to stone Him but Jesus hid Himself and went from them.” The term I AM is taken from Ex. 3:13-15 in reference to the father. In John 5:18 we read “…for this reason the Jews tried all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath but he also called God his own Father, making himself equal to God.” The prophet Isaiah prophesied of Him in chapter 9:6, “for unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government will be on his shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Might God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” In Matthew 1:21-31 and Luke 1:31 we see that Mary was told that she should call her son Immanuel, all of these passages teach that Jesus was God in the flesh and that He still is after His Resurrection as He now reigns over His kingdom in heaven.
