What does the Bible say about the existence of Hell?

Answer: It may be surprising to some but it was Jesus who spoke more about the subject of eternal hell that anyone else in the Bible. The words Gehenna is used 13 times in the KJV of the New Testament. 12 of those times it was used by Jesus. In each case, He spoke to the eternal nature of punishment in a horrible place. It is much more horrible than we can imagine and all of should hope that we never fully realize how bad it is. Here are the descriptions Jesus gives of hell. Matthew 25:41 – a place of darkness; Matthew 18:12; 22:13; 25:30 – weeping and gnashing of teeth. It is a place where the worm does not die and the fires are never quenched and a place that eternal (Matthew 25:46). Matthew 8:12; 13:42, 50; 22:13; 24: 51; 25: 30; and Luke 13: 28 are the other passages where Jesus spoke to the subject of eternal hell. Hell is a prepared place for unprepared people. It is a place where there is no end to the torment and pain that comes forever.

The wonderful news is that there is no need for any of us to go there, unless we disregard what God has spoken to us in His word. God has, through His mercy and grace, informed us fully of how to keep from going to hell. We have to humble ourselves after hearing His word (Romans 10:18) and let His word build us up in faith (Hebrews 11: 6) that moves us to confess the name of Jesus (Romans 10:10) repent of our sins (Luke 13:3) and be baptized in water for the remission of our sins (Acts 2: 38) and live faithfully until death (Revelations 2:10). When we are baptized for remission of our sins, the Lord will add us to His church where all of His children are. We are to faithfully serve Him in His church as His beloved children. He wants us all to be saved (1 Peter 3:9), but if we choose to ignore what He has said, we will not be allowed to live with Him forever. How sad would that be. Eternal life with Him in Heaven or Eternal death with the devil and all the evil folks of all time in Hell. The choice is up to you. You still have time to put Him first and escape Hell. Heavan isa prepared place for prepared people. Are you ready for the Judgement Day (2 Corinthians 5:10)?
