HOUSTON– Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne is praising members of his department for assisting the Drug Enforcement Agency in a major operation last week.

The operation was led by the DEA Galveston Office Task Force in the Houston area on June 16, resulting in approximately two dozen individuals being taken into custody on charges related to drug trafficking, firearms violations and money laundering. Nearly $3 million in cash, along with multiple firearms and a significant quantity of drugs, were also seized, according to the CCSO.

“This investigation is the result of countless hours of meticulous work and reflects our detectives’ commitment to getting dangerous individuals off the streets,” Hawthorne said.

The DEA works with state and local partners, including members of the CCSO.

“We appreciate their continued dedication and the strong partnerships that make operations like this possible,” Hawthorne said.
