ANAHUAC— The Anahuac Municipal Development District continues to highlight participants of its Summer Job Training Program as they continue to work hard to earn their checks.

This summer, Anahuac High School junior My’Quiet Davis is working at Chambers-Liberty Counties Navigation District.

So far, Davis has learned about water flow in canal systems and how to make a barbed wire fence.

Davis also learned a bit about managing money through his paychecks.

When he graduates, Davis hopes to become a collegiate athlete or barber. He participates in football, basketball and track.

This year, nine students are participating in the program, either part-time or full-time, to develop skills that will improve their opportunities for jobs following graduation.

Each participant went through an interview process of submitting resumes and interviewing at the AMDD office. AMDD Directors Monica Rodriguez and Kenneth “Kenny” Miller and Office Administrator Annette Abernathy conducted the interviews.
