Pistols and Purses brings plenty of fun
WALLISVILLE— The second Pistols and Purses Bingo Night was a success, with many coming out to play some bingo for a worthy cause.
With Shoreline Contractors, LLC, as the headline sponsor, the Anahuac Area Chamber of Commerce held the bingo night on Saturday, Oct. 18, featuring plenty of laughs, good food and many winners.
“The Anahuac Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to strengthening local businesses and enriching the community through meaningful service and partnerships,” Chair Sarah Phelps said. “Each year, the chamber hosts events like Pistols & Purses Bingo to raise funds that make a lasting impact right here at home.”
The MC of the evening, Jacob Lucas, had the crowd laughing throughout the event with plenty of jokes and his modeling of the purses.
Even if someone lost bingo, there were plenty of opportunities for other prizes through the 50/50 raffle and the silent auction, which included items such as a luggage set, an espresso machine, a Yeti cooler, and more.
Everyone enjoyed delicious tacos, provided by The Beginning.
Bingo prizes ranged from Coach totes, a Michael Kors crossbody and a Kate Spade crossbody to a Stoger 9MM, Winchester Wildcat 22 and Ruger 380.
In total, there were six purses and six firearms, plus the premier purse and firearm.
The fun didn’t stop after bingo, as the official afterparty was hosted at Snappy’s Roadhouse with music by Ty Laramore.
All proceeds from the evening will go back into the community, whether it’s to local businesses or to community members in need.
“Proceeds from this event help support Chamber initiatives that uplift both our business community and local residents—such as providing a full Christmas experience for children through the annual Wish Tree Gift Drive,” Phelps said. “Through efforts like these, the Chamber continues its mission of fostering economic growth, community spirit, and a stronger Anahuac for all.”
The chamber is also hosting its Fifth Annual Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, Oct. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The event offers free family fun, with kiddos going trick-or-treating around Fort Anahuac Park.
If interested in participating as a vehicle or booth, more details are available at Facebook.com/AnahuacAreaChamber.
Participants must bring their own treats to hand out and their own decorations. Spaces are first-come, first-served, and set up begins at 1:30 p.m.
