Lady Panthers finish district winless
ANAHUAC– The Lady Panthers season has come to a close after falling to Hardin and Kirbyville last week, as the black and gold were just not able to muster a win in district.
On Friday night, the Lady Panthers welcomed in the Hardin Lady Hornets, and while they fell in three sets, there was some fight in the second frame, as Hardin narrowly won 27-25.
In the end, the Lady Hornets swept Anahuac, 25-11, 27-25, 25-16.
On Tuesday night, the Lady Panthers secured their first set victory of the season against Kirbyville. Anahuac lost the match 3-1 but won the third set.
The set win showcased the Lady Panthers' skills. With only seven players available to play, the team made positional and strategic changes.
Brecken Wilpitz, Brogan May and Addison Ducot are all out with injuries. Ducot is a setter, so Coach Hart ran a 5-1.
The final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 24-26, 25-16.
Middle Blockers Maddison Willis and Addilynn Pierce led the offense with five kills each, and Skye Hedges led with 19 assists. Defense leader was Rai'Ana Lewis with four solo blocks. Total team kills were 19; total team blocks were five; total team digs were 40.
Anahuac finishes the 2025 season with a record of 10-32.
