The Liberty Police are conducting a terroristic threat investigation, which began shortly before 12 p.m. at 3605 North Main Street in the City of Liberty.

Police responded to the call of a possible active shooter threat on social media against the Open House Ministries shortly before 12 p.m. on Sunday Morning. Initial investigation determined that a male identified as a 19-year-old from the Kountze area made a comment on Facebook during a church service live stream causing a scare.

Officers with the City of Liberty Police Department and surrounding agencies arrived on scene and determined there was no active threat to the church members or public.

The Liberty Police Department is continuing its investigation and is actively working with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and the Liberty County Attorney’s Office.

Thanks to the Open House Ministries and its members for their cooperation during the investigation.
