Recently the county surpassed the 2,000-case mark and since reports in mid-November the county has jumped from 28 active cases on Nov. 16 to 135 cases currently according to data released by the Liberty County Office of Emergency Management.

The order was put into place last week after a small wildfire had broken out in the far northwest corner of the county after dry conditions had developed in the area.

Read moreThe Liberty County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the 4 month old little girl who was hit by her mother’s car has passed away. According to Criminal Investigation Division Capt. Billy Knox, the child passed away on Friday, November 27 as a result of the injuries sustained when she was pinned in her swing set by the mother’s vehicle on November 13, 2020.
