Ramirez heading to Graceland University for CC

DAYTON — Former Bronco Cross Country standout Isaac Ramirez will be far from home as he takes his talents to Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, this fall.

Ramirez joined the Broncos cross country team under the tutelage of Head Coach Michael Asbill when he was a sophomore and got off to a slow start. Then, a few meets into the season at the Nederland Invitational, something clicked, and he knocked almost two minutes off his best time just in one race.

Liberty 14U Heading to Longview for State

LIBERTY — Summer is synonymous with baseball and youngsters across the state are embroiled in all-star tournaments, and one local squad will compete for state this weekend. Liberty’s 14U All-Stars will make the trip to Longview July 19-22 after finishing in third place at the District Tournament in Division I. The team from Liberty competes in the Ranger Division.

Anthony-Conner leads16-5A selections

DAYTON — Mika Anthony- Conner has been a standout leader for the Lady Broncos softball team for the last four years, and the future McNeese State player has been named the 165A District MVP.

Anthony - Conner helped lead the Lady Broncos to the playoff s all four years, and last year, as a junior, she was a big part of the Dayton team that made it to the Regional Semifinals. Anthony- Conner was also named to the Academic All-District Team for 16-5A.
