MEMORIAL DAY COMMEMORATION EVENT
Monday, May 31 is Memorial Day and in remembrance of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country, a gathering will take place at the Dayton Community Center Veterans’ Wall area where Captain Ken DeFoor of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department will play taps. This solemn ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. and the public is encouraged to attend.
PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION
Noah’s Ark Mother’s Day Out and Preschool at First United Methodist Church of Liberty, 539 Main St. is accepting registration applications for the 2021-2022 school year. Noah’s Ark classes meet from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Currently there are spaces available for children ages 1 year old to 4 years old. Please call Nancy Chambers at (936)336-6401 for more information and to receive a registration form.
LIBERTY HIGH SCHOOL PRANCERS SPRING SHOW
The LHS Prancers present their Spring Show: A Trip to Walt Disney World. The event will be at the LISD Auditorium on May 22, 2021 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $7 at the door.
DAYTON SPORTS HALL OF FAME
The Dayton Sports Hall of Fame will hold the Induction ceremonies for the 2020 Hall of Fame Class on Saturday, June 12 at 10 am at the Dayton ISD Performing Arts Center, located at 3200 North Cleveland. The original planned induction was postponed due to COVID19.
NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS
Trust the process. Narcotics Anonymous meets every Monday and Wednesday at 7 pm at 424 Main Street in Liberty, next to Jax Hamburgers. For more information, call 254- 716-9965.

The City of Liberty has Coffee with the Mayor on the third Thursday of the month.

CLEVELAND FOOD TRUCK FUSION
We are expanding our hours and inviting craft/ boutique vendors to join us for our May 6 kickoff event! The new hours are Every Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Call 281-592-2395 and talk with Marina or Ashleigh at the Civic Center to get added onto our vendor list!

Boutique/Craft vendors are not required to pay a vendor fee and just need to fill out the vendor form with the Civic Center. (210 Peach Ave.)

CELEBRATE RECOVERY
The Family Church in Hardin is hosting Celebrate Recovery, a weekly class every Tuesday Night at 7 pm. If you know someone who needs this class, please share this information with them. This is a Bible-based recovery program for alcohol, drugs, codependency, anger management, etc. The Family Church is located at 656 CR 2010 in Hardin, Texas.

As the legislative branch of the City of Ames government, the City Council holds open public meetings where local laws, policies, and basic decisions for the city are discussed and decided. City Council members are elected at large.

The regular called meetings of the Liberty City Council are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Special called meetings are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of each month, however, meetings may be called at any time to conduct necessary business.
