ROSENBURG– Leading up to last Friday night, the Barbers Hill passing game has turned eyes, but last Friday night it was the ground game that put on a show at Traylor Stadium.

The Eagles ground game proved to be too much for the Foster Falcons to stop in a 43-13 victory in a non-district contest.

As a team the Eagles rushed for 246-yards and averaged 6.3 yards per rush.

Barbers Hill (3-1) led 25-7 at the half and then made it a 43-7 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Foster scored their final touchdown with no time remaining in the game.

Freshman Miles Spurlock led the Eagles ground game with 91-yards on 13 carries while Jamal Jones added 51-yards on eight totes.

Quarterback Brady Barrier accounted for four touchdowns on the night with two in the air and a couple of more on the ground. Barrier finished 8 for 10 in the air for 68-yards.

Anthony Bonnet, Jr., added a 27-yard touchdown run for Barbers Hill. Tripp Davis caught three passes for 42-yards and a score while Bonnet, Jr., added a touchdown reception. Kickers London Schick and Javi Castillo each kicked a field goal.

The Eagles will start district play at home on Friday in a huge match-up with the Lufkin Panthers.

That matchup will feature a familiar face for Eagles fans, as former head coach, Carl Asbeck is the new head coach for the Pack. Asbeck spent four seasons with the Eagles and will certainly be looking to snag a win over his former program.
