A Chambers County Sheriff’s Office K-9 officer with suspected cocaine and THC products seized during an Aug. 1 traffic stop.

WINNIE– A recent traffic stop led Chambers County Sheriff’s Office to discover a large quantity of suspected narcotics.

The incident occurred at 11:23 a.m. on Friday, Aug 1, when CCSO interdiction detectives initiated a stop on a van on Interstate 10 near Jenkins Road outside of Winnie, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

According to information from the CCSO, the driver’s behavior raised red flags, prompting law enforcement to request assistance from a K-9 unit.

Once on scene, the K-9 made a positive alert to narcotics in the vehicle, which prompted a search and the discovery of around 7.2 kilograms of suspected cocaine, along with 960 grams of THC products hidden inside the wall of the vehicle.

The driver was identified as Dallas Brady of Dickinson, and authorities arrested him on two first degree felony charges of manufacture/ delivery of a controlled substance. He was taken into custody and booked into the Chambers County Jail.

“The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office is committed to keeping dangerous drugs off our streets and making our community safer,” the release said on the CCSO Facebook page.
