ANAHUAC—Every Thursday, the Chambers County Golf Course hosts a Senior Tournament, offering seniors an opportunity to get active and compete in a friendly event.

On July 17, Gary Christopherson won the tournament with a score of 78, and Jay Icet hit a hole-in-one with his nine iron.

Golf Course General Manager Malcom Fagg said the tournament is intended to keep local seniors active.

Chambers County is continually working to enhance the experience for residents throughout the county.

Recently, Chambers County Commissioners Court approved partially waiving fees for veterans and active-duty military, offering a 50% discount on green fees.

Around April to May, the county began sodding, a process aimed at addressing brown patches in the greens.

Scheduling tee times has never been easier, as people can now book on golfnow.com.
