EC duo named to 22-3A first team
WINNIE— The close to the 2025 baseball season was a rough one for the East Chambers Buccaneers in district play, having lost their last eight games in a row.
The future, though, appears to be a bright one for the Buccaneers as a pair of freshmen were named first-team all-district picks.
Leading the way on the all-district list was Kirbyville's Cooper Murphy, who was named the district's MVP.
Teammate David Fussell, along with Orangefield's Kaleb Menard, were named Co-Offensive MVPs while Hardin's Lleyton Berry and Carson Worthy of Orangefield finished as Co-Defensive MVPs. The Newcomer of the Year is Cole Sanches of Orangefield.
East Chambers then landed pitcher Hank Huff and designated hitter Sam Billeaudeau in the first Team.
The Anahuac Panthers put four players on the first Team and Kountze, Orangefield and Kirbyville each added a pair of players.
Leading the way on the second Team was the Hardin Hornets with four players. Kirbyville added three more players to the Team.
