Lady Eagles open season against Clear Brook 57-36
MONT BELVIEU– The Barbers Hill Lady Eagles opened the season at home on Friday night and fell to a tough Manvel Lady Mavericks basketball team 60-43.
The Lady Eagles then traveled to Friendswood on Saturday afternoon in a quick turnaround and knocked off Clear Brook 57-36.
Barbers Hill started strong and led 12-2 after the opening quarter. The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Wolverines 20-8 in the second quarter to take a commanding 32-10 lead at the half.
Clear Brook outscored Barbers Hill 18-10 in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 42-28 heading into the fourth period.
The Lady Eagles iced the game away with a 15-8 showing in the final eight minutes of play.
Barbers Hill will take part in the Peggy Whitley Tournament over the weekend.
