Lions give back to community
ANAHUAC— The Anahuac Lions Club recently donated to various efforts around the local area and in the Kerr County area.
To help with the recent flooding of the Guatemala River, Lions donated $1,000 to those in need in the Hill Country.
The Lions also donated $575 to the Community Hot Meal program, a volunteer initiative that serves approximately 125 seniors each Tuesday.
Additionally, $2,000 was donated to provide parking passes for the medical center and eye exams.
Donated funds were collected through their fish fry events and the Flags Program, where the Lions display over 1,500 flags throughout the Anahuac area.
Each time the American Flags are displayed, the Lions collect 300, totaling about 1,200 hours each year.
