Education Foundation breathes new life into project

ANAHUAC— Anahuac ISD Education Foundation is working to beautify the entrance of the Kyle White Stadium by replacing and refining the paver fundraiser program.
On Friday, July 18, foundation Executive Director Julia Hall worked to replace 146 pavers at no cost to those who purchased them.
“The foundation directors are very pleased with the engraving provided by the new company,” Hall said, noting the original pavers did not hold up to weathering. “We wanted to honor those who have previously gifted us with pavers, so we replaced all of them.”
The older pavers will be cleaned and given to the people who purchased them, giving them an opportunity to display them in their homes or yards.
The foundation began the paver fundraiser in 2018, and now using Bricks R Us, Hall hopes to add more pavers to the space.
“It was going very well and then, of course, COVID hit, and we’re trying to pick it back up,” Hall said.
Funds from the pavers go towards the foundation’s general fund, which is used to support the end-of-year grants for teachers and administrators, presented during the Prize Patrol.
Most pavers commemorate an individual graduation, a graduating class, a lost loved one, or a retired long-term staff member.
Pavers come in two options, a 4-by-8-inch for $75 and an 8-by-8-inch for $150.
