AUSTIN– Following the departure of Brandon Creighton, the race for Senate District 4 is shaping up, and a New Caney man is jumping into the contest.

The district consists of Chambers County, as well as portions of Montgomery, Harris, Galveston and Jefferson counties, and now Charlie Miller is hoping to represent voters.

Charlie Miller owns a towing business, and he is touting his business experience and the connections he has built with local law enforcement and government entities. Through a press release, Miller stated that these experiences have given him firsthand insight into how government decisions affect everyday Texans and what needs to change.

“I’m running because I know what it’s like to be the little guy trying to earn a living,” Miller said. “Government should work for the people, not against them. I’ve seen too much incompetence, too many backroom deals, and not enough accountability. It’s time to bring common sense and integrity back to Austin.”

Miller filed his official candidacy at the Republican Party of Texas headquarters in Austin on Saturday, Nov. 8.

He said that growing up in New Caney, he saw firsthand the challenges that Texans face, which have inspired his commitment to serve and ensure that every taxpayer dollar is spent wisely and transparently.

Miller pledged in his campaign announcement to advocate for fiscal responsibility, public safety, infrastructure improvements and honest government.

“I may be new to politics, but I’m not new to hard work,” Miller said. “I’ll take that same work ethic and determination to the Texas Senate to fight for the people of District 4.”
