ANAHUAC— Making Memories for Myles recently held its annual bingo night, raising enough to sponsor almost 200 blessing boxes to go towards families with babies in the NICU.

Making Memories for Myles hosted its Third Annual Bingo Night on Saturday, Nov. 22, this year with a 70s theme.

“Once again, we owe it all to you for the incredible success of our third annual Making Memories for Myles Bingo Night,” said Sarah Trahan, MMM co-founder. “Together, we managed to sponsor 178 blessing boxes, ensuring that mothers who have experienced the loss of a child will receive a box filled with love and resources for both financial and emotional support.”

Trahan added that the blessing boxes are a continuation of MMM’s mission to support NICU families and the community.

The blessing boxes include a scented candle, mug, teas, fuzzy socks, lotion and more. The box also includes a pamphlet that provides information about MMM and how the foundation can support grieving parents.

Chioma Iheaturu, a licensed social worker at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, expressed gratitude for the blessing boxes and blankets.

“These items make a profound impact on grieving parents, offering comfort during incredibly vulnerable and difficult times,” Iheaturu said. “These boxes give families something meaningful to hold onto, and your kindness brings light into moments of sorrow.”

As for the event itself, folks enjoyed delicious jambalaya and cornbread before settling into their bingo games.

There were plenty of winners throughout the night from bingo and various raffles, as well as from the silent auction.

All in all, there were 10 games of bingo before the Sonny and Cher Premium Game, where the winner received a firearm and case, as well as a Brahmin purse with a matching wallet.

Other bingo prizes included bleacher seat cushions, a Yeti ice chest with cups, a Turtlebox speaker, Coach purse, an airboat tour, gator hunt and more.

Trahan and her husband, Nathan Trahan, wish to give a heartfelt thanks to the emcees of the night, Donlee Smith and Jessi Parham, for “keeping the energy high.”

The couple also gave a special thanks to Eastside Powersports for donating a youth Kayo 110 Bull ATV, which was raffled off during the event.
