LIBERTY — The Liberty County District Attorney’s office held a cookie reception in honor of the 3rd Annual “Tree of Angels,” memorializing and supporting victims of violent crimes, veterans, members of the military, and first responders.

The community was invited to place an angel or other ornaments on the “Tree of Angels” in memory of loved ones and victims of violent crimes.

“We want to do this and make this an annual event,” said Liberty County District Attorney Jennifer Bergman. “It was important for me when I took office to do things like this so we could be visible and also let folks know, especially our victims, that we understand and support them as a community.”

Ornaments can be placed on the tree Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the holiday season. Please note that ornaments will not be returned, as they will be kept for display on the tree each year.
