Most Spiritual is the home of Brandon and Stephanie Smith at 102 Regency Drive.

The Liberty Garden Club had the enormous task of locating four yards to recognize for outstanding decorations. This task was made harder by the number of beautifully festive yards.

In each category, the committee chose to recognize the hard work of several yards by also awarding Honorable Mention to some worthy candidates. The committee was impressed by the beauty of professionally done homes, but for the fairness of this recognition, professional lighting was, hopefully, eliminated.

In the category of Most Spiritual, the home of Brandon and Stephanie Smith at 102 Regency Drive in Regency Place. Honorable Mention for the home of Laura and Harold Jordan at 102 Forest Drive in Forest Park. Both homes depicted the true essence of the season with their nativities.

In the category of Most Jolly, the home of John and Molly McAdams, at 106 Loblolly Lane in Treetop Terrace, captures that. Molly credits the hard work to her daughter, Katherine.

Honorable Mention goes to Ernest Brown at 149 Lone Oak Lane in Pine Place. Both homes have many blow-ups, which the committee thought were extremely cute and festive.

In the category of Best Lighting, well, that is the “tie that binds” during this season. The house awarded is the home of Walden and Lori David, 211 Regal Lane in Regency Park. Honorable Mention could not be narrowed down to one entry or one block, for that matter. The 2600 and 2700 blocks of Cos and Travis Street in Travis Park. Both of these areas had an outstanding show of consistency that distinguished the blocks and got this recognition.

Individually owned homes receiving this mention begin with the beautiful and unique lighting at the home of David and Cassie Milam at 510 Independence, near the Trinity Valley Expedition on Wallisville Road. Also recognized is the home of Waylon McNew at 5016 Briar Grove Street in Ridgewood subdivision.

In the All-Around category, the recognition goes to the home of Shawn and Debra Barker at 318 Wallisville Road across from the TVE. They worked very hard on their yard, and seeing it makes anyone smile.

The Club would also like to recognize the home of Charles and Sarah Mc-Guire at 702 San Jacinto for denoting the elegance of the season. It is extremely comforting and beautiful.

All homes in town participating in the season by decorating, if only with one string of lights, should be applauded for their efforts in capturing the feel of Christmas.

Committee members were Gloria Stratton, Betty Tankersley, Roberta Thornton and Sandy Pickett. Members of the Garden Club were not eligible for awards.
