Hardin students make great showing at HLSR

Students from the Hardin High School FFA program had a big showing at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo over the last month from showing breeding beef, to exhibiting welding projects, and all the CDE contests in between ( Wildlife, floral, poultry, vet, horse, and livestock), the school is super proud of their accomplishments and growth.

Breeding Beef: The Livestock kids collectively brought home 6 “H” bronze trophies!!

Madison Parker Class 1 Grey Brahman - 1st in class Kylea Sopchak Class 3 Maine - Anjou 1st in class Hayden Sopchak Class 14 Maine - Anjou - 1st in class and Senior Heifer Division Champion Addison Sopchak

Class 3 Simmental 2nd in class Jacee Parrish Class 1 Limousine- 1st in class, Calf Division Champion, and Grand Champion Limousine Heifer overall

CDE Contest:

Vet Science Team: 17th overall team. Amber Duff placed 24th out of 174 individuals!

Livestock Judging Team: Senior Team: - Ellie Brett placed 23rd overall, 1st in our Area/ District, and was awarded a calf scramble certificate to come back and exhibit for HLSR 2024!!

-Kylee Land placed 4th in our Area/District and 84th overall!!

- Being down a whole teammate, the girls still placed 36th out of 212 teams, and 3rd overall in our Area/District!!!

Junior Team:

-Kylea Sopchak placed 1st in our Area/ District and 41st overall!!

-Hayden Fisher placed 2nd in our Area/District and 70th overall!!!

- Jacee Parrish placed 5th in our Area/District - Andi Caughman placed 6th in our Area/ District -As a team, the girls placed 20th overall and 1st place in our Area/ District

Ag Mechanics:

Caiden Pickett and Jake Pennington- Hay Feeder- received blue ribbon Chase Vanschuyver-Welding Skid- received blue ribbon
