The Multi-County Crime Stoppers Gatlin Brothers fundraiser concert held this past Saturday night in Conroe was a sold out success, according to Garry Plotkin, who expertly spear-headed this impressive event.
The Gatlin Brothers held the wall-to-wall crowd spellbound with their music, humor and audience interaction. To say the Gatlin Brothers were well received by the enthusiastic crowd would be an understatement. It was a fantastic show.
The event is expected to raise a good deal of money which will go back into funding various law enforcement needs by our Multi-County law enforcement agencies through our Crime Stoppers Board of Directors. According to Plotkin, we should have a total account of money raised by the end of this week.
Many law enforcement agencies from our three-county agencies had their vehicles on display to the visiting public which show-cased their respective departments in the blocked off street directly in front of the beautiful Crighton theatre, which was built in 1934 and reflects the architectural charm and design of that era.
I want to especially thank “S.C.A.N.” team members Curtis and Charlotte Kelly ( see attached photo) on behalf of the “Sheriff’s Citizen Auxiliary Network” and Sheriff Rader, who also was in attendance and represented the LCSO personally, for volunteering and stepping up to the plate and driving the Citizen On Patrol vehicle to the event and putting it on display. In addition, both Curtis and Charlotte worked our Crime Stopper booth and handed out Crime Stopper “goodies” and information to the children and adults that stopped by our booth. Their personalities blended well with the children and parents who came to our Crime Stopper booth and they represented the Sheriff’s Office with a very professional approach.
And last but certainly not the least, all of our three-county law enforcement agencies extend our most sincere appreciation to our Multi-County Crime Stopper Board of Directors for having the courage and foresight to undertake this fundraising event which will help continue their financial efforts in supporting our various law enforcement agencies in needed life-saving equipment and programs.
