Apparent suicide near park
Liberty Police are conducting an investigation of a death which happened shortly before 2 p.m. in the 300 block of R.E. Vinson in the City of Liberty.
Police responded to the call of a possible shooting in the wildlife refuge property shortly before 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. Initial investigation determined that a male identified as Tyler Alan Retchless, 20, of Liberty, was found deceased with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Tyler Alan Retchless was pronounced deceased at the scene by Liberty County Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Larry Wilburn. Notification to family has been completed and the investigation is ongoing.
