R.A Smith Gifts is in the holiday spirit with a festive atmosphere and its wonderland of Christmas treasures as they embrace the heartwarming spirit of the community.

This gift store was originally a construction company named R.A. Smith Enterprises, Inc. in 1980. Pat and her late husband, Robert Smith, cleared lots around the Atascocita and Kingwood area for nearly eight years before moving to Dayton.

Mrs. Smith wanted to give her husband a “hobby shop,” which became a storefront for estate sales and steadily a merchandise mix. The store was located off FM 1960, just three miles outside Dayton, and had been there for 30 years.

It has always been a family business as her grandkids have grown up and continue to work at this spot of treasures.

The storefront created an atmosphere for estate sales and attracted numerous customers. The owners could include a “Christmas Wonderland” throughout the year with the space available in their store.

Eventually, the estate sales slowly died out and went entirely into new merchandise.

In 2018, Smith sold the storefront in Dayton to retire but decided not to once she found out there was a vacant space in Liberty.

“Liking people is the reason I do this. It creates friends to visit with.” Smith said.

“It’s just a friendly atmosphere store that makes you want to come here to shop, and it makes you feel good when you walk in.”

This marvelous gift store offers many treasures such as apparel, bags, wind chimes, jewelry, candles, Old World Christmas and many other exciting things. The best part is that they are all in various price ranges to be affordable.

There are sales every day. Beginning Dec. 1 will be the “Countdown to Christmas” sales event. Every day, something will go on sale and stay on sale until Christmas.

Smith has also started the “After 5 Sale.” Check their Facebook page daily to see what items are marked 25% off from 5 p.m. until closing.
