Clara Eunice Tinsley, 1918-2019

Clara Eunice Tinsley, 101 years and 8 months old, of Dayton passed away Dec. 8 at St. James House.

She was born in Magnolia, Arkansas, on March 15, 1918 to Ollie Samuel Thomas Sr. and Minnie Pearl Thomas.

Clara retired from Woolworth after 40 years of service, she was then a caretaker for many elderly people.

She is preceded in death by her son, John Wayne Tinsley Sr.

Clara is survived by daughter-in-law Jimmye Tinsley of Baytown; grandchildren John Wayne Tinsley Jr. of Mississippi, Susan Hemmenway of Baytown, Rhonda Byrd and husband Jim Byrd of Kingwood, Michael Tinsley and wife Christine Tinsley of Covington and Alicia Empson and husband Mike Empson of Dayton; great-grandchildren Ashley Chute and husband J.R. Chute of Crosby, Stephen Hemmenway and wife Leslie Hemmenway of Cove, Megan Kinney and husband Casey Kinney of Cove, Michaela Tinsley of Texas City, Michael H. Tinsley of Covington, Tennessee, Lance Corporal Jackson Welder, serving in the USMC, Caitlyn Welder of Dayton and Carys Welder of Dayton; along with eight great-great-grandchildren.
