Mr. Davis passed from this life suddenly on Sunday, July 7. Larry was born in Liberty on Nov. 20, 1938 to Albert and Cecil Davis.

Larry was a proud lifelong resident of Liberty. He was Baptist by faith and attended church when he was able. He worked for Exxon Mobil for many years as an electrician. He was a big sports fan. He diligently followed the Astros and the Rockets. It never mattered what else was on TV if one of his teams were on, the channel was getting changed. Larry loved college football and loved to watch those Fighting Texas Aggies on Saturdays. Football was more than a past time for Larry. He was a part of the game for over half of his life as a referee. Mr. Davis was a referee for more than 40 years for high school and pee wee football. He was an enthusiastic golfer. The score on the card never mattered it was more about the memories shared on the course with friends and family. Larry loved to travel to Fredericksburg with his family twice a year. The Hill Country was always a favorite place for him to unwind and relax. He was without a doubt a character. He was quick with a joke and always kept the room full of laughter. Larry was certainly a kind and caring man.

Most of all he was a devoted family man. He was married to the love of his life, Beatrice, for 54 years. It will always be remembered that no matter where you were or what you were doing he was always there for you. He would do anything for those he loved and cared for. He had a special bond with his grandkids and his great-grandkids. Mr. Davis will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
