Hull-Daisetta Independent School Board met Thursday, May 13 at 6:30 pm in a special session to vote on the appeal of Jr. High/High School Principal Justan Anderson. The principal was reassigned in March following a board decision.

On Thursday, the Board determined that Anderson can return to her position as principal. The vote was unanimous, with one member abstaining.

Principal Anderson was kind enough to share her thoughts,

“Sometimes in life, we’re thrown a curveball, and our path becomes altered along the way. This situation has been one of those life-changing experiences. When we get into the field of education, we do it to make an impact in the lives of our students. Whether it is through lessons taught or direct life experiences, our goal is to teach them how to overcome obstacles and be the best they can be. I told my students and staff that throughout all of this, I hope I have taught them these things: that you should always stand up for what you believe in, to always fight for what is right, to never let the actions of others let you lose sight of who you are, and that INTEGRITY and HONOR are two of the greatest assets you could ever have for yourself. Our school theme this year was ‘Rise Up’ and there is no better expression for this situation than that! I am so thankful for the support and love I received over the last two months, and I have never been happier to be back serving as the JH/ HS Principal! With Pride with Honor and with Excellence—It is a wonderful day to be a Bobcat!”
