Lowe scores 10 for West in 49-42 victory over the East in SETCA All-Star Game

LUMBERTON - Tarkington’s Emily Lowe scored 10 points and had four steals to help lead the West squad to a 49-42 victory over the East on Thursday night at Lumberton High School in the SETCA All-Star Game.

Liberty’s Katrina Tran also played for the West team and finished with 2 points and a pair of rebounds. Trailing 11-6 late in the opening quarter, Tran scored on a layup shortly after being inserted into the game to cut the deficit to 11-8.

Late in the second quarter and with the West trailing 2116, Lowe nailed a three-pointer to make it a 21-19 score.

In the third quarter, the West outscored the East 15-8 thanks to back-to-back three-pointers by Jade Pleasant of Hardin- Jefferson. Lowe also added a make from downtown in the period.

With under a minute left in the game, Lowe sank a pair of free throws to help ice the 49-42 victory for her team.

“This was a great way for me to cap off my high school career,” said Lowe. “I was glad to contribute in the win.”
