MONT BELVIEU- The West side scored a couple of runs in the opening inning and never looked back on Wednesday night in an 8-1 victory over the East in the SETCA All-Star Game.

Liberty’s Jace Smart was the only player in the area participating in the game and the senior was a winner with the West.

Cameron Edmonds of Anahuac started the game with a single, then moved to third on a ground-rule double by Woodville’s Cole Standley. Game Kimble of Barbers Hill followed with a single, scoring Edmonds and Standley and the West led 2-0. Smart reached after being hit by a pitch but would be stranded at first base.

The West was never threatened as they kept cranking out the offense to take the big win.
