The Dayton and Liberty Cross Country Teams traveled to Baytown on Saturday morning to take part in the Goose Greek Invitational.

On the girl’s side was the Lady Broncos Miayah Phoummarath turning in an excellent performance to win the girl’s race by some 16 seconds over Luna Lerma of Goose Creek Memorial.

“We were side-by-side going into the backstretch, and that is when I just turned it on, and I knew she wasn’t there anymore,” said Phoummarath.

“The conditions were tough out there today with it being thick and wet, but I am happy to get the win.”

The Lady Panthers saw Marina Bourgeois and Julianne Shivers come across in 13th and 14th place, respectively.

On the boy’s side, Dayton’s Peyton Snapp finished in 4th place with a time of 18:03.

Jaxon Asbill finished in the top 10 with a 9th-place medal.

Jacob Thomas of the Broncos was 16th, and Isaac Ramirez came in 21st place.

Matthew Morin of Liberty crossed the finish line in 25th place.
