HARDIN – Football season looms just around the corner; future Hornets assembled this week to participate in the 2023 Hardin Hornet Football Camp.

The coaching staff was excited to get on the field and work with young athletes as they worked to build a solid program from top to bottom.

The Coaches wanted incoming 7th - 9th graders at the field ready to put hard work in each morning. The coaches tried to set a precedent with a warm-up routine to make sure every muscle was stretched and not at risk of being harmed. After warm-ups, the coaches split the young men into different groups regarding the positions they tend to play or will be playing in the next year to come.

The upcoming players strived to be at their best in every drill and tried to keep an open mind in learning new things throughout the camp.

This year’s coach staff consists of Coach Anderson, Coach Lacefi eld, Coach Pope, Coach Hessler, Coach Cole, Coach Gilbert, Coach Thomas, and of course, the most important of them all, new Head Football Coach Chad Taylor.

Unfortunately, Coach Taylor could only attend one day of the football camp to help nurture the youngsters due to an engagement in California with his daughter Brookelyn Taylor, a standout Liberty softball player. She is playing in the Premier Girls Fastpitch National Tournament this week. Overall, it has been an excellent week for the future Hardin Hornet football crew.
