Many of us start the New Year with a clean slate and want to change some of our not-so-great, unhealthy ways. It feels wonderful to have a fresh start, to put the past behind us, and to strive for new goals in the New Year! As we start the New Year, let’s make sure we put the very best and most healthy goal at the top of our list! So, why not start off the year by renewing our efforts and desire to connect with God on a daily basis!

A deep and INTIMATE relationship with Jesus is IMPERATIVE to our spiritual walk. We will never be able to fully RESIST our sinful nature if we haven’t CULTIVATED true INTIMACY with our God. The battle against sin and ungodliness begins with the DEPTH of our commitment to Jesus and His WORD.

This world will destroy us if we haven’t armed ourselves with the Spirit. With the WORD. With TRUTH. With Jesus … INTIMACY with Christ is the key to successfully guarding our HEARTS and our lives against sin and destruction. It’s never too late to start digging into the Scriptures and allowing the TRUTH found within to PENETRATE deeply into our hearts. It’s the only way to battle against sin. It’s the only way to be VICTORIOUS over evil. Because when INTIMACY lives, sin dies …” Come close to God and He will come close to you ...” (James 4:8) NASB As we start the New Year, let’s make sure we put the very best and most healthy goal at the top of our list! So, why not start off the year by renewing our efforts and desire to connect with God on a daily basis!

As you enter this new year, maybe like me, you’re also entering an unfamiliar season of new in some way. We all experience new seasons of life from time to time, with some being positive and some negative; some wanted, and some unwanted; some exciting and some terrifying.

But regardless of the new that lies before us, how we choose to look at and think about those seasons of newness will determine whether or not we walk through them with peace, hope and joy, or with heartache, anxiety and fear.

When we intentionally choose to believe God’s new is always good even if we didn’t ask for it, want it or understand it we can step into the new with courage, bravery, a positive attitude and an unsinkable faith. Letting go of the old frees up our hearts to embrace God’s new for us.

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” Isaiah 43:2 (NLT) Happy New year from The Family Church 9456 Hwy 146N Hardin, TX.
