Barbers Hill sweeps past Hendrickson
HOUSTON- The Barbers Hill Eagles have picked the right time of the season to get hot, as they met Hendrickson in a best-of-three series in a Class 5A Regional Semi-final played at Langham Creek High School.
Barbers Hill needed only two games to take down the Hawks 12-0 and 8-2.
The series started on Thursday night, and the Eagles scored five runs in the second inning and needed only five innings in a 12-0 victory.
A Landon Davis double scored a run, Ryan Garcia followed with a two-run triple and Barbers Hill led 4-0. London Schick made it 6-0 with a home run to left field.
The Eagles added six more runs in the third inning, highlighted by a Garcia two-run single.
Ayden Mooring pitched four innings and struck out four while getting the win on the mound.
Garcia finished with three hits, three RBIs, and three runs scored. Schick added three RBIs and two hits.
Barbers Hill then put an end to the series on Saturday with an 8-2 win.
The Eagles scored four runs in the third inning to lead 5-0. Adriano Hayes led the way at the plate with three hits, three RBIs, and a home run. Josh Digulio had a two-run double in the third inning.
Bridger Thomas struck out two and did not allow a hit in getting the win on the mound for Barbers Hill. Thomas pitched into the third inning.
The Eagles will face off with Austin Anderson this week in a best-of-three series. Game one is set for Weimar on Thursday, with a start time of 3 p.m. Game two will be at Waller on Saturday at 2 p.m.; if needed, game three will be played 30 minutes later.
