Anahuac puts four on 22-3A 1st Team
ANAHUAC– Coming off a massive late-season rally to clinch the final spot in the playoffs, the Anahuac Panthers baseball team made some waves on this year's all-district squad.
Anahuac was the only team in District 22-3A with four players named to the first team. They are pitcher Logan Trotter, catcher Luke Hoagland, second baseman Blaedin Josephson and outfielder Braedon Edmonds. All four players have graduated.
Cooper Murphy of Kirbyville was named the District's MVP, while teammate David Fussell, also of the Wildcats, was named the Offensive MVP. The Defensive MVP was Lleyton Berry of Hardin, while the Newcomer of the Year was Cole Sanches of Orangefield.
The Panthers had two more players named to the second team. They are freshman pitcher Lane Hall and junior outfielder Oscar Garza.
The Anahuac Panthers made some postseason noise against the Huntington Red Devils by winning game two of the series in Jasper. Game three would go in favor of Huntington.
