Birds, Birds, Birds
ANAHUAC— Flying above the treetops or dancing on the water, the birds of Texas are fascinating creatures, and the week after next, there will be an opportunity to learn more about them.
The Friends of Jocelyn Nungaray National Wildlife Refuge is offering a presentation on birding, led by David Sarkozi, founding board member of the Friends of Anahuac Refuge, on Saturday, July 26, at 2 p.m.
Coined “Beyond the Birds of Texas: Interesting facts that won’t fit in a field guide,” Sarkozi’s presentation will feature just that- experiences in his many years of birding.
Sarkozi will also have copies of his 614-page field guide, “Birds of Texas,” available for purchase and signing.
The book encompasses a wealth of knowledge about native birds, from their habitats to their sizes to the meanings behind their names. The book also details anatomy and features numerous beautiful illustrations.
The event will be at the Texas Chenier Plain Refuge Visitor Center, 4017 FM 563, Anahuac.
